Superfood makes us think of Popeye and rightfully so because superfoods means super as in extra nutritional value. The more nutritional value in our food the stronger we are.
But Superfood is not about our muscles, it is about food for our cell-system, which becomes our lasting health and daily well-being.

Superfood has a high level of anti-oxidants and supply of vitamins and minerals.
Many foods these days come with the claim of being a Superfood, maybe because the list is very long, partly because the vegetable kingdom is so plentiful and that is where we find the superfoods. Often leafy greens and "grasses" are the ones you see as superfoods in for example green superfood drinks and such.

Choosing superfoods in every meal increases your health in the long run, but also your immediate well-being because they supply a highly available energy source for your body.
Superfoods also helps fight and prevent disease, such as cancer and other lifestyles diseases, partly because green foods helps alkalize the body.

You can choose to eat mostly from the superfoods category and consider these foods "your daily choices".
You can also consider superfoods as a supplement to your regular diet and at least they will help you balance other less healthy food choices you might make.

Fruit: Berries, especially wild blueberries, gojii berries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, prunes. Apples and kiwi are great and so is watermelon.

Plant food: the dark leafy greens, especially kale, watercress, arugula, and if not in excess; spinach. Broccoli, brussels sprouts, asparagus, and artichokes. Pumpkin and sweet potato is in the Superfood category too, but I also like to make sure I have onion, carrots, and beets on a frequent basis.

Protein and fat: beans (especially red beans), avocado, nuts (almonds, walnuts, raw pistachios) and seeds (sunflower and pumpkin). Some consider eggs a Superfood but they must be organic and free range. Fish is also in this category, if you choose the ones high in omega 3 fatty acids and low in mercury such as wild salmon. Cod, halibut, and monk fish are nice too.

Other: green tea as a non-sweetened drink, lemon in your water, and a little bit of very dark chocolate can also fit into this category as long as you choose it with a healthy sweetener (not processed sugar) and so dark that you omit the milk, otherwise - you cancel out the benefits, -sorry.
